Dear Walter,

You warm my heart. When you come over to me and stretch your arms up… I melt. If it‘s not you making me sweat, it’s probably menopaws breathing down my neck. I’d rather it was you. Hold me.

Thanks for not pouncing on my head this morning. You’re pretty cute upside down.

I had canned peaches for breakfast today. They were very sweet but very smooth, which was nice. I should’ve had more to eat. I started munching on a piece of leftover pizza as I left the house around 1pm but I only took a couple of bites. It sat in a tissue until I got home again.

I had tea with Mom, Dad, Michelle (they WILL meet you eventually) and my brother Chris and his kids. Mike was there too. He‘s the one with the gumboots. We made some sheep jokes and then I branched off with Henry (see what I did there?) and got a selfie. I used my phone caRAMera. Haha.

You were a very extra-good boy tonight when you laid next to Aero and didn’t chomp on him. We all appreciated it.

I read an entire book tonight. I haven’t read an entire… ANYTHING for a VERY long time. Seriously. Why this book? Why tonight? That epiphany I had last night. It had meowgical powers. It‘s leading me somewhere.

It’s a book about a 10 year old girl who worries herself sick. She’s ME. Dude. Can I tell you where I got this book? (Okay, yes, it’s a graphic novel. A comic. Whatever.) I got it from the FREE cart in the library. Two months ago. It has been sitting next to the bed all that time. Tonight I picked it up and read it start to finish.

I can do this. I’ve got guts.
